§ MR. PIRIEI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether, under the new conditions proposed for Army service, it is now proposed to require an efficient testimony from the recruit as to his real age apart from his own statement on it, in view of the temptation under existing regulations to falsification; and if not, whether, in view of the increased attractions of pay and the terms of service, steps will be taken to ensure complete accuracy, which is not obtainable under the present system.
§ MR. BRODRICKI fear it is not practicable to obtain the degree of accuracy which the hon. Member desires in relation to the age of recruits.
