CORRIE GRANT (Warwickshire, Rugby)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he can now state what explanation he has received from the clerk to the Leamington Borough Magistrates of his detention of a birth certificate used in evidence on application for a vaccination exemption order on 3rd February.
§ * MR. RITCHIEThe clerk was under the impression that it was proper that the certificate, having been put in evidence, should be retained by the Court. I am, however, advised that the Court has no power to impound the document in such a case as the present; and I have directed the clerk to be informed that the certificate should, in my opinion, be returned to the owner.
