SIR BRAMPTON GURDON (Norfolk, N.)

To ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the action of the agents of the Portuguese Government in closing the schools of the Zambesi Industrial Mission which, under the award of the Boundary Commissioners, have fallen within Portuguese territory, is in accordance with Article X. of the Anglo-Portuguese Treaty of 1891, under which, in all territories in East and Central Africa belonging to or under the influence of either power, missionaries of both counties are guaranteed full protection and religious toleration and freedom for all forms of Divine worship and religious teaching.
