§ The following Question was on the Paper, but the hon. Member was not in his place to put it.
§ DR. THOMPSON (Monaghan, N.)To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if he would consider the advisability of referring the Land Purchase Acts (Ireland) Amendment Bill to a Select Committee of eighty Members, two-thirds of whom shall be selected from amongst the Irish Members of the House of Commons.
§ MR. JOHN REDMOND (Waterford)In common fairness to the right hon. Gentleman and to my colleagues, I ought to state that the Question docs not represent the views of the Irish Party. Our opinion is that if this Bill comes up for discussion ample and adequate time should be given for debating it in the House itself.
