§ MR. JOHN REDMONDI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state the reason of the delay in the appointment of the Committee on Irish Valuation, promised last year.
§ MR. WYNDHAMIn pursuance of a reply which I made to the hon. and learned Member on the 7th April, I awaited the Report of the Royal Commission on Local Taxation. I subsequently understood that the widest possible terms of reference were considered desirable, and this entailed the postponement of the inquiry until the Commissioner of Valuation was at liberty to attend. That period has been reached, and, having conferred with my hon. friend the Secretary to the Treasury, I am now in a position to suggest terms of reference.
