HC Deb 10 June 1902 vol 109 c235
MR. CATHCART WASON (Orkney and Shetland)

To ask the Lord Advocate if the Education Department can bring before the School Boards the advisability of keeping a thermometer in the schools, so there may be as fairly equable temperature in the schools as is possible.

(Answer.) The maintenance of a fairly equable temperature in the schools is a matter which receives attention in connection with the approval of plans, and His Majesty's Inspectors would certainly call attention to any defect in this matter, and would suggest the use of a thermometer where this had not occurred to managers themselves.—(Scotch Education Department.)
