HC Deb 10 June 1902 vol 109 c233
MR. WEIR (ROSS and Cromarty)

To ask the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of an accident which occurred to a goods porter at Moulton on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway on the 11th December last, arrangements have now been made to discontinue the practice of tow-roping at that station, it having been stated by Mr. Main, of the Railway Department of the Board of Trade, to be attended with danger to persons engaged in the operations.

(Answer.) The Board of Trade have received an assurance from the directors of the railway in question that the practice of tow-roping shall be abolished as far as possible.—(Board of Trade.)
