To ask the First Lord of the Treasury, whether he is aware that of the deaths which occurred in the Highland Crofting counties last year no less than 1,479 were uncertified; and, will he consider the expediency of introducing legislation on the subject.

(Answer.) The Government are aware of the facts mentioned in the question, but no pledge can be given at the present time to introduce the necessary legislation.—(Treasury.)
