§ MR. CHARLES HOBHOUSE (Bristol, E.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will state what information he has about the expedition to Lake Chad under Colonel Morland, and whether it is intended to establish a residency in Bornu.
§ MR. J. CHAMBERLAINColonel Morland reached Gujba, in Bornu, on the 11th of March, and I have learnt by telegraph that he has now returned to Jobba. He was instructed to leave a resident in Bornu, and has no doubt done so, but the full report of the proceedings has not yet been received.
