§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the Under Secretary, of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that the Italian Government have recently issued a regulation to the effect that all foreign artists who wish to study in the Italian galleries or museums must produce an academic diploma and a certificate from the Italian Consul in their native city or town that they are capable and respectable; and whether, in order to prevent inconvenience to British art students at present studying in Italy, he will consider the expediency of making representations to the Italian Government on the subject, with a view to the withdrawal of the order.
