§ SIR GEORGE NEWNES (Swansea, Town)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will state what facilities are being given to active service volunteers who desire to remain in South Africa to obtain employment, and what steps Volunteers should take in order to secure such employment.
LORD STANLEYActive service Volunteers who obtain employment will be allowed to take their discharge in South Africa. I have no information as to the grant of any special facilities to such Volunteers for obtaining employment, but they will retain their right to a free passage home up to twelve months from the date of discharge.
