To ask the Secretary of State for War whether prisoners of war on parole, at present in England or elsewhere, are allowed to proceed to South Africa provided they are prepared to pay their own expenses and duly declare their acceptance of the position of subjects of His Majesty King Edward VII.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Brodrick.) Prisoners of war on parole, provided they are burghers of the late republics, come under the arrangements explained to the hon. Member on the 16th instant in regard to prisoners of war generally.
