HC Deb 29 July 1902 vol 112 cc22-3
*SIR CHARLES DILKE (Gloucestershire, Forest of Dean)

Can the First Lord make his promised statement with reference to Friday's business?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

I had hoped that we should have made such progress with the Education Bill yesterday as would have enabled us to conclude Clause 7 tomorrow; but after what happened last night those hopes seem to be fading away. I propose, therefore, to devote Friday, as well as tomorrow, to the Education Bill. I shall on Thursday put down Supply, but not as a counting day. The Supplementary and Excess Votes will be taken at the Morning Sitting.

MR. JOHN REDMOND (Waterford)

And have any definite arrangements been made for the evening sitting?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

Yes, two Irish Bills will be put down—the Local Government Bill being the first.

MR. DALZIEL (Kirkcaldy Burghs)

Will any Bill be taken after Supply?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

Yes, I think so, but not the Food and Drugs Bill.
