HC Deb 28 July 1902 vol 111 c1346
MR. KEIR HARDIE (Merthyr Tydvil)

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, if he will state what are the special qualifications which necessitate the retention of the inspector, Mr. E. Stump, at the North Western District Office, after attaining the age of sixty, and if he can give the probable date of this officer's retirement.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) Mr. Stump is a thoroughly efficient officer and one of the best in his district. In these circumstances the Postmaster General sees no reason to call upon him to retire at present.
