§ MR. WEIRTo ask the Secretary of State for India if he will state the number of institutions for the promotion of technical education in each Province of India which are supported wholly, or partly, by the Government of India.

Member for Bethnal Green, North-East Division, on this subject given on the 17th July, 1900.† I have no later statistics; but the Viceroy is now considering the subject, on which a special Committee has recently reported, and I expect shortly to receive the Report and proposals of the Government of India, which will, no doubt, show clearly how the matter stands at the present time.
