HC Deb 21 July 1902 vol 111 cc775-6
MR. JOHN DEWAR (Inverness)

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate, as representing the Secretary for Scotland, whether the Secretary for Scotland has received a memorial from the Convention of Royal Burghs asking that the ancient † See page 521. rights and privileges of the Royal Burghs in regard to Royal Proclamations be continued to thorn; and if it is the intention of the Department to take any steps in the matter with the view of conserving the rights of the burghs.

A memorial was received on the 7th instant and will be duly considered, but it is not possible to make any further statement in regard to it.
