§ MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL (Kerry, W.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he intends to take any steps to have the balance on the Local Taxation (Ireland) Account, now close on £100,000, distributed in relief of rates.
§ MR. WYNDHAMNo, Sir. Section 58 (5) of the Local Government Act, 1898, provides that any credit balances on the Local Taxation Account shall be accumulated and applied to meet any future deficiency, and subject thereto, to be applied in such manner as Parliament directs.
