MR. YERBURGH (Chester)

To ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Foreign Office has received a Report from Mr. Tower upon the British Consular Service in China; and, if so, will he state the substance of this Report, and say whether it is the intention of the Government to act upon its suggestions.

(Answered by Viscount Cranborne.)A Report has been received from Mr. Tower on the Consular Service in China. The Report is a valuable one and the suggestions contained in it will be very useful to the Secretary of State, but it is not intended to publish its contents at present.
