HC Deb 17 July 1902 vol 111 cc517-8
MR. KIMBER (Wandsworth)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether any record is intended to be made, or anything to be done, for the memory, of those who have been killed in action in the war under circumstances which, had they lived, would have entitled them to a V.C. or other distinction.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. BRODRICK,) Surrey, Guildford

It is intended to grant the Victoria Cross to the representatives of those who have been killed during the war in the performance of acts of gallantry which, in the opinion of the Commander-in-Chief in South Africa, would have entitled them to the decoration had they survived.
