HC Deb 17 July 1902 vol 111 c513
MR. SAMUEL YOUNG (Cavan, W.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that, on the 28th of February last, Constable Kevelehan, of the Kings-court, County Cavan, Police Station, assaulted and robbed a man named John M'Mahon; and will he say whether an inquiry has been held into that case; and, if so, will he state the result.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The constable did not assault and rob this man. But he found him drunk on the street, a bottle containing whisky lying beside him. The man was convicted of drunkenness, and had several times previously been convicted of a similar offence.
