SWIFT MACNEILLI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what action, if any, has been taken by the War Office with reference to a statement made by Sir George White, shortly after the termination of the siege of Ladysmith, and permitted by the military press censor to be telegraphed to this country, that efforts had been made by the War Office to supersede him, and that these efforts were prevented by the action of Sir Redvers Buller.
