REDDY (King's County, Birr)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether he can state how many vacancies have arisen in Irish postmasterships since the appointment of the present Postmaster General; and how many of those appointed to fill those vacancies profess the religious opinions of the majority of the Irish people.
§ MR. AUSTEX CHAMBERLAINThe number of postmasterships which have become vacant in Ireland during the period referred to is twenty three. The Postmaster General has no information which would enable him to state the religious belief of the officers appointed to fill the vacant offices.
