HC Deb 10 July 1902 vol 110 cc1355-6
SIR JOHN STIRLING-MAXWELL (Glasgow College)

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will say what steps have been taken to initiate the inquiry which he has promised into the Board of Manufactures in Scotland and the various institutions under its charge; and whether he will state what form that inquiry will take and when it will be held.

(Answer.) I am in communication with the Secretary for Scotland on this subject. I think a Departmental Committee will probably be appointed to undertake the inquiry as soon as possible after the summer recess.—(Treasury.)
