§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether the Government of India have yet considered the expediency of instituting a local inquiry into the economic condition of typical villages in famine areas, with a view to consider the best remedial measures to be adopted.
§ LORD G. HAMILTONThe inquiry suggested is not a practical method of investigation, and as such does not find favour with those who are conversant with drought and its consequences.
