To ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether the proposals of the Board of Customs for the removal of the grievance of the second class examining officers, in regard to their pay and prospects, have been yet submitted to the Treasury; and, if so, whether he can state what the proposals are.

(Answer.) The proposals have not yet been submitted to the Treasury, but are under consideration, and it is hoped that they may be submitted during the present session.—(Treasury.)
