§ MR. KEARLEY (Devonport)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government have arrived at a decision with regard to transferring the administration of the various funds, now vested in the Commissioners of the Royal Patriotic Fund, to a new Board, as recommended by the Joint Committee of the Lords and Commons; and, if so, whether legislation to effect such transfer will be introduced before the close of the session.
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURA scheme has been prepared on the representation of t hose bodies whose advice and experience was most valuable, including the hon. Gentleman himself who has bestowed much care on the subject. I hope to introduce a Bill very shortly dealing with the Royal Patriotic Fund, and if it proves non-controversial I should hope to be able to pass it this session. I cannot pass any controversial measure on the subject.
