WEIRI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury, in view of the fact that the Government of India estimate that the additional pay to the British Army will throw an extra burden of £226,000 on the people of India for the year 1902–3 for the maintenance of European troops in India, will he consider the expediency of defraying out of Imperial taxation half the extra amount.
