§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether he is aware that a petition has recently been presented to this House from the County Council of Caithness, and also from the County Council of Haddington, in favour of the School Board Electorate (Scotland) Bill; and, seeing that this Bill seeks to redress the alleged grievances of thousands of householders, more especially in the Highland crofting counties, who at present have no vote at School Board elections by reason of their rentals being less than £4, will he consider the expediency of initiating legislation on the subject, or arrange for the Bill now before the House to receive the support of the Government.
