§ MR. A. J. BALFOURBefore I make my statement I want to make some little explanation on a matter which has just been brought to my notice. I am informed, though I have not seen the passage myself, that there has appeared in a newspaper—in the Sun—an account of an interview with me on the subject of the negotiations from Holland. I do not usually refer to things that take place in the newspapers, but still, this is an important matter, and I only desire to say that it is a fabrication from beginning to end.
