§ MR. KENNEDY (Westmeath, N.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether, in view of the application of the Great Southern and Western Railway Company of Ireland to the Railway and Canal Commissioners for their consent to increased rates, under section 29 of the Great Southern and Western and Waterford, Limerick, and Western Railway Companies Act, 1900, the Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction for Ireland will exercise its powers under section 17 of the Agriculture and Technical Instruction (Ireland) Act, 1899, and appear before the said Commissioners on the hearing 971 of that application to protect the interests of any persons aggrieved by same.
