§ MR. O'DOHERTYI beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the Irish Lights Commissioners, having received the sanction of the Corporation of Trinity House to the placing of a gas-lighted sounding buoy to mark the Tuns Bank at the entrance to Lough Foyle, have applied to the Board of Trade for their sanction to the placing of said buoy, and can he explain why such sanction has not been accorded to the application, considering that the buoy has been asked for by the Liverpool Steamship Owners' Association and others interested in shipping matters.
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURThe proposal to mark the Tuns Bank by a gas lighted sounding buoy is included among 797 the new works in the Estimates for 1902–3, and will be considered in a few days by the Board of Trade at a Meeting at which the Irish Lights Commissioners will no doubt be present.
