HC Deb 21 January 1902 vol 101 c471
MR. GIBSON BOWLES (Lynn Regis)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury, whether he can state what steps His Majesty's Government have taken to provide that separate force of all arms to be sent from England, the provision of which the General of Artillery at Gibraltar, with the support of Sir George White, V.C., Governor of Gibraltar, have reported to be the only way of ensuring the safety of this harbour and fortress since the building of the docks and stores on the western side of the rock.

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (MR. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.

This is not a question which, in my opinion, it is expedient or advisable to discuss by way of question and answer across the floor of the House.
