§ MR. CHANNINGI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, whether Major Parris surprised a Boer laager containing 150 women and children, near Carolina, on Sunday, 5th January, and removed these women and children; and, if so, whether these women and children are being treated as prisoners of war, and are being compulsorily sent to one of the concentration camps.
§ MR. BRODRICKIn reply to this question, Lord Kitchener telegraphs as follows:—
Arrangement come to between Commandant of Christiana and Tolly Debeer, by which latter will remove these families on 20th January: pending removal families have been living undisturbed in their own laager which has been kept fully supplied by Commandant of Christiana.
