HC Deb 20 January 1902 vol 101 c301
MR. CHANNING

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, whether Major Parris surprised a Boer laager containing 150 women and children, near Carolina, on Sunday, 5th January, and removed these women and children; and, if so, whether these women and children are being treated as prisoners of war, and are being compulsorily sent to one of the concentration camps.

MR. BRODRICK

In reply to this question, Lord Kitchener telegraphs as follows:— Arrangement come to between Commandant of Christiana and Tolly Debeer, by which latter will remove these families on 20th January: pending removal families have been living undisturbed in their own laager which has been kept fully supplied by Commandant of Christiana.
