§ MR. WALTER PALMER (Salisbury)I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has now received the Reports of the Gentlemen appointed last year to inspect the University Colleges of Great Britain; and, if so, what action is being taken upon them.
§ SIR M. HICKS BEACHI have received the Reports, and am referring them to a Committee as in 1897. The members of the Committee of 1897 have consented to serve again. I understand that they will not be able to meet till May; but this will cause no delay in the actual distribution of the grants.
