§ MR. ALFRED DAVIES (Carmarthen Boroughs)
I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies if a copy of the recent correspondence between the 704 British and Dutch Governments respecting peace has been sent to the Boer Generals in South Africa; and, if so, is he in a position to state to the House the nature of any communication that may have been received from the Boers in response.
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Mr. J. CHAMBERLAIN, Birmingham, W)
As has been already stated by the First Lord of the Treasury in answer to a Question on the 6th of February, Lord Kitchener has been asked by Telegraph to communicate the correspondence to the Boer leaders. There has not been time for a reply, if any is made, to be received.
