HOULT (Cheshire, Wirrall)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that for some time past in County Sligo and other parts of Ireland loyal inhabitants have been subject to terrorism and intimidation; and, if so, will he take steps to maintain order in this part of Ireland.
§ MR. WYNDHAMIn certain parts of Ireland, which I have referred to as disturbed areas, illegitimate, and, in some cases, illegal pressure has been directed against individuals. Prosecutions have been instituted where there is evidence of illegality. Protection is afforded to all who are subjected to intimidation.
