§ CAPTAIN NORTONI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the fact that notices have been issued by the War Office to general Officers commanding districts that contracts for supplies to Army canteens in the United Kingdom will not be allowed beyond June next, he will now state what changes, if any, are intended to be made by the War Office with regard to the mode of supplying and management of Army canteens.
§ MR. BRODRICKA Committee is about to be assembled by the Commander-in-Chief to consider the existing conditions under which canteens and regimental institutions are conducted, and to report whether any alteration is desirable. Pending the Report of this Committee, it is not thought desirable to make contracts beyond next June.
