DILLON (Mayo, E.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will give an undertaking that the death sentence, if pronounced against Commandant Kritzinger, will not be carried into effect until the House has had an opportunity of considering the full reports of the trials in his case and in those of Commandant Scheepers and others in which the death sentence has been carried into effect.
§ MR. BRODRICKNo, Sir. I cannot give any pledge which would interfere with the responsibility of the Commander-in-Chief of the forces in South Africa in these matters.
