§ LORD G. HAMILTONThe difficulties which had been experienced in arranging for a reduction of the telegraph rates to and from India have now been removed, and a notification has been sent by the Post Office to the International Bureau at Berne that the rate will be reduced from 4s. to 2s. 6d. It is hoped that this reduction will be introduced very shortly, but the necessity of complying with the forms of the Telegraph Convention makes it difficult to state the exact date at present.
