HC Deb 11 February 1902 vol 102 c985
COLONEL WELBY (Taunton)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether the Military Court of Inquiry, to be assembled at the request of General Truman on the management of the Remount Department, will be a court merely to collect evidence, or whether it will have power to give an opinion on officers or soldiers connected with that Department; if the latter, whether it will be a Statutory Court empowered to take evidence on oath.

MR. BRODRICK

This Court of Inquiry will be a Statutory Court; it will take evidence on oath, and will give an opinion on General Truman's management of the Remount Department.
