§ CAPTAIN NORTONI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, if he can furnish a Return of all appointments during the last seven years to be Military Knights of Windsor, and state upon what principle the selections are made.
LORD STANLEYThe Return of the officers appointed can be given. The selections were made on account of poverty, as required by the Letters Patent, and good service, and were made by Her late Majesty Queen Victoria, or His Majesty the King, from names submitted by the Secretary of State on the recommendation of the Commander-in-Chief.
