HC Deb 07 February 1902 vol 102 cc669-70
MR. LOUIS SINCLAIR (Essex, Romford)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade, with regard to his letter of 22nd November 1901 to the Manor Park and Piasket Ratepayers' Association, stating that the London, Tilbury, and Southend Railway Company had commenced to build a station at East Ham, whether he is aware that the London, Tilbury, and Southend Railway Company have not performed any of the promises they have made; and that they have erected no building of any kind at East Ham; and whether he will inquire into the matter.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Mr. GERALD BALFOUR,) Leeds, Central

I will direct the attention of the Company to the terms of the Hon. Member's Question. As recently as the4th instant the Board received a communication from them repeating their statement that they had commenced the erection of a new station and adding that it would of course be suited to the needs of the public making use of it.
