§ SIR M. HICKS BEACHThe salaries of the law officers for non-contentious work appear on the Estimates. The latest figures available as to Fees for contentious business are for the financial year ended 31st March, 1901. They are as follows: Attorney General £5,917, of which £1,416 was paid to the present Lord Chief Justice; Solicitor General £3,341, of which £692was paid to the present Attorney General. Full particulars will be given in Class III., Vote 1, of the Appropriation Accounts, which will soon be published.
