HC Deb 06 February 1902 vol 102 cc539-40
MR. LONSDALE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether his attention has been directed to the complaints made by various mercantile bodies in Ireland as to the state of the machinery for the collection of debts, and whether the Government will be prepared to give facilities for the introduction of a Bill now before them dealing with the office of sheriff.

MR. WYNDHAM

Representations have been made to the effect stated in the first part of the Question. No facilities are required for the introduction of a Bill. If my hon. friend refers to facilities for the passing of the Bill, I am doubtful whether there will be time during this session.
