HC Deb 18 December 1902 vol 116 c1623
MR. KEIR HARDIE (Merthyr Tydvil)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has inquired into the circumstances under which Anne Spillane, now under sentence of death at Guildford, committed the crime for which she has been condemned to die; and whether, under the circumstances of the case, he will recommend that the Royal clemency be extended to the condemned woman.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Akers Douglas.) I must decline to answer Questions in Parliament as to the advice which it may be my duty to tender to the King in this case.
