MR. CREMEBI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury if the military operations recently directed against the Waziri and other Afghan tribes are carried on in the mountain regions of what has been called the New Province, lying beyond the boundaries of His Majesty's Indian Possessions; if a copy of the Orders directing the commencement of these hostilities will be communicated to both Houses of Parliament before the end. of the present session, in accordance with section 54 of the Act of 1858; if the consent of both Houses of Parliament will be invited to authorise the expenses of these military operations carried on beyond the frontiers of British India and whether the cost will be defrayed from the revenues of India, or be paid from the British Treasury.
