§ DR. AMBROSE () Mayo, W.To ask the under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is the cost up to the present date to the British Treasury of the Uganda Railway.
(Answered by Lord Cranborne.) The actual sum expended up to date which has been defrayed by the Treasury, or for which the Treasury will be liable, is £5,207,199. This sum is being repaid with interest by a sinking fund, and £73,222 5s. has already been devoted to this object.
