§ MR. ARCHDALE () Fermanagh, N.I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will state on what grounds an officer of the 8th King's Regiment was appointed to command the 27th Regimental District at Omagh; and whether there were any officers belonging to the district regiments available.
§ MR. BRODRICKThere were no officers having regimental claims who were available when the command of this regimental district fell vacant, and Colonel Mellor, who was an. applicant for the post, was selected. He is well acquainted with the district and is a landowner at Coleraine.
