HC Deb 10 December 1902 vol 116 cc650-1
MR. WEIR () Ross and Cromarty

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether, seeing that the States (Channel Islands) have declined to accede to the War Office request to provide 1,800 Militiamen, instead of 1,000 as hitherto, and declined to bind themselves to subject the Militia to be under canvas for the time stipulated by the War Office, he will state what steps he proposes to take.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Brodrick.) No official representation of the nature alluded to has reached the War Office, and I am therefore not prepared to make any statement on the subject.
