To ask the Secretary to the Board of Education whether the rate-payers of a parish who, asking no aid from Government Grant, maintain at their own expense a certified efficient school in their parish, will be called upon to contribute to the full extent to the general education rate, or only to such extent as that rate is in excess of that required to meet expenditure on the public elementary schools.

(Annswered by Sir William Anson.) The ratepayers of such a parish will not be exempted from any part of the general education rate.
